Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday directed the concerned departments to immediately restore natural gas supply, to the parts of Pindi, which was disrupted due to some fault in the supply system. This directive was issued by the Prime Minister during a call on by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

The minister had apprised the Prime Minister that parts of Rawalpindi including Waris Khan, Bhabra Bazar and New Mohalla were without natural gas supply creating inconvenience to the domestic as well as commercial consumers. The Prime Minister said gas supply to those areas be restored as soon as possible otherwise action be initiated against the responsible officials.

According to the local gas office, natural gas supply to those areas was disrupted after some fault developed in the pipeline during the construction of under-pass at Committee Chowk.
